Telecom Tower Technician II Exam Prep Course

Course Number
The NWSA defines a Telecom Tower Technician 2 as “an individual who can safely perform tasks on telecommunication sites and is capable of supervision of TTT-1 technicians and trainees.”  It is expected that someone operating at a TTT-2 level within the industry should possess the knowledge of a TTT-1 in addition to advanced skills commiserate with a higher level of training and experience.  

At the conclusion of this online course, the student will have an opportunity to take an exam given in electronic format, similar to the NWSA exam.  This can be especially helpful for individuals who have not experienced an electronic based test before.  This is a preparatory course, so no certificate will be issued upon completion.  This course now includes a Practice Exam in both English and Spanish.   

This module was created using the Candidate Handbook provided by NWSA as a resource for the topics included.  If a student would like additional information about a particular topic, we recommend they take the corresponding full length course found in our Course Catalog.  The course includes these following topics:
1. Introduction
This chapter states course objectives and scope, information about NWSA and links to the NWSA site, and provides a review quiz for the material covered in our TTT-1 Exam Prep course.  
2. Fall Protection and Rescue Plans
This chapter includes a reference to standards pertaining to fall protection, definition of rescuer requirements, information on and example of a Rescue Plan, and equipment and facilities inspection. 
3. Scope of Work, Rigging Plans, & Demolition
This chapter uses a set of construction drawings to familiarize the user with the format and identify how the information is used in the field, explains the levels of Rigging Plans, and includes an overview of demolition related topics. 
4. Structures, Components, Inspection & Maintenance
This chapter uses the TIA-222 standard as a reference point for various topics including: structures, structural components, grounding, welding, maintenance and inspection. 
5. Antennas & Components
This chapter is an in depth look at installation of antennas and components on telecom structures.     
6. Rigging & Lifting
This chapter examines machines and equipment used for lifting with a particular focus on lifting personnel.

The objective of this course is to prepare students for the TTT-2 written and practical exams by supplementing on-the-job training and experience they possess with reference to regulation, standard, or best practice.

It is recommended that the student complete the eSystem Training Solutions’ TTT-1 Exam Prep course prior to taking this course.

This course now includes a Practice Exam in both English and Spanish.  Both exams are listed at the bottom of the course container.  The student can choose in which language they would like to complete the Practice Exam.  Only one version of the exam, either English or Spanish, must be completed.
